Sexual health services are free and available to everyone regardless of age, sex, gender, ethnic origin and sexual orientation. Cornwall Council is responsible for buying sexual health and contraception services locally.  Sexual health means being able to access appropriate contraception and not having to face unplanned pregnancy as a result of ineffective contraception or no contraception at all. South Shore Excellence Awards

Recently we received photographs from the South Shore Excellence Awards, hosted by the University of Exeter in Penryn. Awards were presented for academic excellence, artistic excellence, sporting excellence and for making a positive contribution to the College and community. Congratulations to all the winners. During the evening there was a performance by our gymnasts taken from the Peter Pan production. They showed immense skill and talent on a very small stage! Further notice to Parents and Carers

We were alerted to a potential situation by the police, which led us to ask all staff to keep their students in class through breaktime until concerns were fully investigated. Police have now advised that the College can go back to normal. The Police have requested that the College does not reveal any further details regarding this morning's security alert. They have given assurances that there is no danger for students and their investigations are continuing. The College has acceded to the Police's request and therefore, at this stage, will not be providing any further information....

Helston Youth Dance (HYD) achieves 5 trophies!

On Sunday 8th May the HYD Team travelled to Plymouth to compete in the Dance Machine Dance Competition.   Our first dancers to perform were Jessica Marie Woods and Maea Morgan entered in the Senior Duet category. Their 'Witch Hunter' piece was beautifully performed with clear moves and great expression. Next came the Junior Teams and HYD had entered two teams; 'Bridesmaids' and 'Peter Pan'. Many of these dancers had not attended a competition before and although very nervous they performed extremely well and with lots of character. Finally came the Senior Team category and HYD performed their 'Last Man Standing'...

Raising funds for The Fishermen’s Mission Charity

Year 9 student Lauren Taylor helped draw attention to The Fishermen's Mission last Saturday 30th April. Lauren and Ms Marsden with her son Charlie took turns, along with members of the public, to dress up in clothes from the shop and sit in the window. Lots of people walking past were a little surprised by the live models! Julian Waring who manages the shop, and does a huge amount of outreach for the Mission, said "Thank you all, a great day and it helps raise awareness for our small charity."
