Year 12 students attend the 'Learn to Live' event in Redruth Cinema.

On Tuesday 26th September Year 12 students attended the 'Learn to Live' event in Redruth Cinema. Students listened to a series of personal accounts and stories of people who have been involved in road traffic accidents. 'L2L' targets young people as they are statistically one of the most at risk groups when it comes to road traffic collisions. The event enabled young people to understand specific risks and consider the consequences of their actions. Year 13 Engineering Students Visit AP Diving

Friday 22nd September 2017

The Year 13 Engineering Tech Level students visited AP Diving in Water Ma Trout industrial estate on Thursday to learn about how scales of manufacture affects the choice of processes and equipment.  They had a full guided tour of the world leading diving equipment company, seeing the testing lab, product development and manufacturing. The students were particularly interested in how the designers generate and sketch their ideas, moving to CAD and rapid prototyping, then onto a rigorous testing regime to ensure the item is compliant and exceeds safety regulations, or goes 'back to the drawing board' to further modify their designs....

The Head Girl/Head Boy interviews were an incredible challenge this year – the quality of the students was impressive. Students were interviewed by Mrs D Bryant, Mr W Jenkins, Mr D McDonald and Canon David Miller, for the position of Head Girl and Head Boy. It was an incredibly difficult task for the panel to make the final decision, but after much deliberation, the panel decided that Freya Tatham would be the new Head Girl, with Lucy Treloar as the Deputy Head Girl, along with Thomas Fogg as Head Boy and Ryan Williams as the Deputy Head Boy. Chinese students visit the College

Last week, our students in the College were joined by 15 students from China. They studied a range of subjects, and accompanied students in Years 8, 9 and 10 to lessons. One of our Year 10 students, Thomas Fogg, summed up the experience saying, "Throughout last week, several students from China attended my lessons and had a taste of life as a Year 10 student in the UK.
