Post 16 construction students enjoy work experience in France

The College was delighted to receive glowing reports from the Cornwall Marine Network, who organised a two week work experience for our Post 16 construction students. The students did really well in their respective workplaces and their tutors were pleased by the fact that they showed motivation, were autonomous, willing to work hard and performed really well. The businesses would be pleased to offer similar placements in the future and thought having English students in the workplace for two weeks was also beneficial for their staff. An invitation to an evening of classical music

The College would like to extend a warm invitation to the 'evening of classical music' this Wednesday at St Michael's Church. The event is free, and Helston Community College students will be performing a range of pieces including excerpts from: Faure's 'Requiem' Bernsein's 'West Side Story' Handel's 'Messiah' Vivaldi's Trumpet and Flute Concertos compositions by Gabrielli and Purcell. Information regarding the traffic flow trial at Penhellaz Hill, Helston

Cornwall Council has notified the College that it is conducting a six week trial to gauge the impact on traffic and the surrounding area by preventing motorists from making certain manoeuvres at the Penhellaz Hill junction where it joins onto the A394. The trial is scheduled to run from 14th June through to 26th July 2017, and will end before the August holiday period begins.The restrictions will consist of: 1.
