Interact Club enjoy the sun on beach clean!

23rd June 2018

The College INTERACT team have once again demonstrated social responsibility within the local community by organising and partaking in another beach clean. This time it was at the National Trust owned Gunwalloe Fishing Cove.

However, there was a twist.... The INTERACT team wore masks which they had decorated as a reference to the 'Fergusons Gang'. Fergusons Gang was formed in 1927 and raised money and awareness for the National Trust. They presented the money that they raised for the Trust in peculiar and extravagant ways. As a result, the INTERACT team decided to wear masks whilst cleaning Gunwalloe beach! After all, if a member of the Fergusons Gang can present £500 to the National Trust whilst wearing a mask, INTERACT can rid a stretch of Cornish coast from plastic whilst wearing masks too!

After their hard work, the team enjoyed a well-deserved barbecue on the beach, thanks to Mrs Tatham. On behalf of the INTERACT team, we would like to thank all who took part, including Mike Hooper from Helston Rotary and David Roberts from Kennack diving.
