PostPost 16 students work alongside primary pupils from

1st November 2017

Our Year 12 Construction students once again did themselves proud working on the raised beds at Landewednack. Last year they build the beds from scratch and returned again this year to make some more. They were a little smaller this year, designed for the Seagull reception class to use. Year 12 students from Helston Community College dismantled the old beds and put the new ones together using recycled timber as part of their sustainability unit.

The class teacher from Landewednack, Helen Beirne made them a carrot cake using the carrots grown from seeds that the students planted last year. It went down a treat! There are plans for the future, as the construction students will be going onto build an indoor planter and Mr Philpott will be working with the Nursery children to show them building techniques.

The College would like to thank Mr Philpott and his construction students for all their hard work in Landewednack.
