Consultation on Proposed SEMH Area Resource Base – Now Open
Helston Community College, in partnership with Truro and Penwith Academy Trust and Cornwall Council, is pleased to announce that the consultation period for the proposed new Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Area Resource Base (ARB) is now open.
The proposal outlines the development of a specialist ARB on the college site, designed to provide high‑quality support for children and young people with SEMH as their primary need. The ARB would grow in phases to an eventual capacity of 36 pupils and would enable more young people to access specialist provision closer to home, supported by trained staff and therapeutic interventions.
This significant change requires a formal consultation and an application to the Department for Education, and we are now seeking views from parents, carers, stakeholders and the wider community.
Consultation Period
The consultation will run from Wednesday 4th March to Friday 27th March.
How to Take Part
Feedback can be submitted via email to: tpatconsultation@tpacademytrust.org
All responses will be carefully reviewed, and a consultation report will be published as part of the application process to the Department for Education.
We encourage all members of our community to share their views. Your feedback will help shape the development of specialist SEMH provision for children and young people within our local area.
