Local Monitoring Committee

Welcome to the Local Monitoring Committee section of the Helston Community College website.

Helston Community College is part of the Truro and Penwith Academy Trust. Its Board of Directors have delegated some responsibilities to the College’s Local Monitoring Committee. The Local Monitoring Committee acts as a critical friend to the College, providing support and challenge to the College’s Senior Leadership Team.

Committee members play a key role in monitoring and improving the quality of provision in the College, its relationship with stakeholders and the safety and well-being of its children and staff. Our Local Monitoring Committee consists of members drawn from the local community, parents and staff. When a vacancy occurs for a parent committee member, an election is held and we welcome and encourage parents to volunteer.
