Record Breaking Results at Helston!
Building on our wonderful A Level results, we would like to congratulate our GCSE students who have performed brilliantly in their exams, achieving results that are above the national average. Having had to negotiate Covid in their transition from primary to secondary school, these students have shown huge resilience and determination to get to where they are now. We are delighted that so many of them have secured the top grades enabling them to join our thriving sixth form.
Alex Lingard, Headteacher, said, “We are incredibly proud of what our Year 11 students have achieved – they worked very hard and showed a huge amount of resilience over what was a very long exam season. Not only are we proud of all the high achievers, but we are equally pleased for all those who worked incredibly hard to pass their courses. It was great to see so many smiles and tears of joy as students opened their results envelopes.”
Mr Richardson has led and supported this year group as they have progressed through their 5 years at Helston. He commented, “I would like to congratulate each and every student for the results gained from their hard work and determination. I am so proud of them and they should be really proud too.”
We would like to thank all the staff and parents for their amazing support for the students throughout the year. This year sees the College achieve their best ever results in English and Maths since the change in the grading system.
Elsie Ryder, who achieved numerous grade 9s, including one in the incredibly challenging Further Mathematics GCSE, shared her joy, saying: “I’m so delighted with my results – all the hard work paid off! Thank you to all the staff at school who supported me so well. I can’t wait to join the sixth form!”
