Work Experience & Apprenticeship Fair

Work Experience

Work experience provides students with a range of skills, an understanding and appreciation of the commercial world and potentially inspire your future career direction. Employers and Higher Education Institutions are increasingly looking for students who are able to combine excellent academic achievement with practical hands-on experience. Work experience usually occurs during a week in the summer term of Year 12.

Apprenticeship Fair

In order to support our Year 13 students who have are not applying to university, we hold an apprenticeship fair in the Post 16 Centre. Employers often include: IBM, Serco, RCH Treliske, Francis Clarke Accountancy, Pendennis Shipyard, Dynamo Health Care, HM Forces, Cornwall County Council, and Southerly Point Multi-Academy Trust were present. A number of alumni now work for these employers, and they offered possible employment as well as up to Level 4 apprenticeships. On previous occasions, many students have attended with their parents/carers, allowing them to research apprenticeship opportunities for when they leave Post 16 at the end of the year.
