Bite Back - School Food Champions Helston Community College 2022-2023

3rd October 2022

Bite Back 2030 is a youth-led movement that wants healthy, nutritious food to be an option for EVERY family; at home, on the high street and at school.

They are working to redesign the food system to put child health first and they want to help young people like you to improve the food at your school and in your community.

That means healthy schools and healthy students and communities. Can you help?

  • Bite Back consists of 150 schools across two years across the UK
  • 2000+ young people are now involved to make school food better and their communities better.
  • We at Helston Community College aim to have weekly sessions for Years 7 to 9
  • Teams of young people like you are leading social action projects to improve the food provision and culture in schools and local communities just like ours at Helston.

What Could we Change here at Helston Community College with our Food and drink provision?

Could we get Free Fruits for pupils in school?

Could we get the packaging you get your food in at school replaced with more sustainable lunchboxes that are better for the environment?

Could we get more water fountains in school and students to be given reusable water bottles to fill up with drinking water during break times?

We are one of 100 schools around the country who are taking part in this programme this year. And we are looking for 15 of you students at Helston Community College to take on this challenge and help us to make changes to our school food!

Would you like to get involved?
